Missing woman to be shown on TV

A local teen who has been missing since July will be featured on the television show "America's Most Wanted" tonight, according to the teen's family.

Family members said a show official told them that a picture of Roxanne Paltauf, 19, would be shown during the fourth commercial break of the broadcast.

The show airs tonight at 8 on Fox.

Bonnie Block, a spokeswoman for the family, said Paltauf was last seen around 9 p.m. July 8 at a Budget Inn in North Austin. Police say Paltauf walked away from the hotel after having a fight with her boyfriend, Block said. No charges have been filed in the disappearance, Block said.

If anyone has information about where to find Paltauf, they can call the show's hotline at 1 (800) CRIME-TV.

Hello all, Ok I am on a new mission, I have been checking into a advertising billboard in the Rundberg--IH35 , austin tx area. This to put a Roxannes name and picture out there for all to see. I have calls in with a couple of companies, Lamar and Reagan, billboards to get prices . Yes it is very expensive Approx=== $1,100.00 for the art work and $6000.00 for the space and time. The reason that it is so pricey is the location I am at my witts ends and continue to come with ideas in finding OUR ROXANNE AKA TEAM ROXANNE. This could also be a start in helping other families of missing love ones maybe start a organzation.Which i have no idea how to go about it, but it is a start I believe that The Good Lord has put this in my heart, my purpose, So Please get back with me on ideas, suggestion and comments on this matter Through God ,All thing are possible Thank you God Bless and Love Elizabeth Harris and Family

Every day for the past week, in the area near Rundberg Lane and Interstate 35 in North Austin, Elizabeth Harris has searched for her missing 18-year-old daughter.

In hotels and stores. Under I-35. In ditches. In trash bins. She posts fliers. She approaches strangers.

Roxanne Paultaf Was last seen by boyfriend on July 7, mother says.

Police said Friday that attempts to find Paultaf have been unsuccessful, and the department took the rare step of releasing a news release for a missing person.

Paultaf's on-and-off boyfriend of two years was the last one who had seen her, at about 8:30 p.m. July 7, Harris said.

The couple had been staying at the Budget Inn near East Rundberg Lane and I-35, spending time together alone, Harris said.

They had an argument, the boyfriend told Harris the next day. Paultaf walked out. He went after her. She told him to leave her alone. Later, he went looking. He couldn't find her.

A few hours after his call, Harris called the police.

"My mind's going crazy," Harris said Friday. "I don't know what's going on."

"I'm fearing the worst has happened. I'm trying not to," she said, crying. "I just need to know where she's at."

And it's not like Paultaf not to call, Harris said. Mother and daughter speak often, at least every other day. But Paultaf hasn't contacted her family or friends since July 7.

"She hasn't even tried to call her own cell phone," which was left in the hotel with all of her belongings, Harris said.

Only her ID was missing.

The eldest of five children and on track to earn a GED, Paultaf is talented, artistic, bright, beautiful and helpful at the family's French Place home, Harris said, a girl with dreams who aspires to study fashion and interior design.

Paultaf, who is 5-foot-4 and 124 pounds with green eyes and brown hair, was last seen wearing white shorts, a pink tank top and flip-flops, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

"She's our lifeline," Harris said. "I've got to find her."

Story: Mother hopes billboard helps find her daughter

Mother hopes billboard helps find her daughter

08:45 PM CDT on Wednesday, March 21, 2007

A great big sign is spelling new hope for the family of Roxanne Paltauf.  The 18-year-old has been missing for eight months.  Now, a local company has donated a billboard on I-35 featuring Roxanne's mysterious disappearance.

The billboard is only a block away from where Roxanne was last seen.  Now, her mother is hoping the exposure will bring her daughter back.

The family of Roxanne Paltauf is hoping a billboard along I-35 will help bring her home.

"(The billboard is) huge and it's beautiful, just like Roxanne," said Liz Harris, Paltauf's mother.

The space was donated for free by Reagan National Advertising.

Paltauf never came home last July.  The 18-year-old's boyfriend, 30-year-old Louis Walls, told the family and police that Paltauf walked away from a North Austin hotel after the couple argued.  Police are anxious to talk to anyone who may have seen the couple before, during and after Roxanne's disappeared.

In July, a search by volunteers in the area where Paltauf was last seen turned up nothing.  She was also featured on the TV show, "America's Most Wanted" earlier this year.  Last week, Paltauf's story appeared in "18-Wheel Angels", a national magazine for truck drivers.

Harris now has high hopes that this latest tool will finally provide the missing piece of the puzzle.

"I think this is a perfect location, especially 5 o'clock traffic, everybody's going to be stopped, they're going to be looking at something, they'll be looking at her and hopefully remember her face, seen her around, find some information that maybe somebody knows where she's at," she said.

Friends and family donated the $1,100 it took to create the artwork.

Call Crimestoppers at 472-TIPS if you know where Roxanne is.  Remember, any tip leading to an arrest could mean a reward of up to $1,000.

I will definately do whatever I need to help find her... She will be in my prayers for now and always. Let's find Roxanne!
