I came across this poem yesterday, authored by poet Colleen Hitchcock, and was moved by it. I decided to share it here, as I thought it might have special poignancy to someone with a missing or lost loved one.

And if I go while you're still here...

Know that I still live on,
Vibrating to a different measure
behind a thin veil you cannot see through.

You will not see me,
so you must have faith.

I wait the time when we can soar together again,
both aware of each other.

Until then, live your life to the fullest.
And when you need me,
just whisper my name in your heart,
....I will be there.

Colleen Hitchcock

I was just given this yesterday to help me cope with the loss of a loved one this holiday season.  I feel it is beautiful and moving.  I have shared it with my family.  I have read it over and over again and I will continue to treasure it.

This is such a poignant poem. I lost my fiance to cancer a few years ago and reading this was so moving...This link was sent to me by a friend.

I was in a horrible motorcycle accident that almost took my life but did take the life of the person that I was riding with. My mother gave me this poem at Christmas. It brought tears to my eyes but at the same time it brought me comfort.

My mother passed away about 5 years ago. I found this poem in her nightstand drawer. She had written it on a scrap of paper. Reading it brought me much comfort and I keep it in a frame today.
