Foul Play Suspected In Disappearance Of Central Texas Woman
(July 16, 2007)—Bell County authorities suspect foul play in the disappearance of a 47-year-old Belton woman who hasn’t been seen in more than two weeks.
Carmen Garth, also known as Carmen Weller, was last seen on July 1 at her home in the 6700 block of Lanita Drive.
Her car and personal effects were left at the residence, the Bell County Sheriff’s Office said, but investigators think she did have her cell phone with her when she disappeared.
There’s no evidence that it’s been used since July 1.
Anyone with information about the woman’s whereabouts is asked to call the Bell County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at (254) 933-5435.

Carmen is my sister , just keep praying that she is found . My niece has posted picture in all of Bell county. Maybe someone will see or remember something .

I know Grant Garth Personally.
That being said I think he is a great suspect in this disappearence.
I've known Grant since we were kids and he is one of the worst people I have ever met. He is a manipulating liar and a danger to everyone around him.
He is a registered sex offender because he raped 2 women when he was younger and spent quit a few years in prison for it. I saw Carmon with him about 1 week prior to her disappearing. I went to school with Carmon as well as Grant. I'm not sure how or why they hooked up but I will say He didn't deserve a person like her. When I saw her Grant stated to me that he hated her and what a B**th she was towards him trying to run his life. I beleive is is the one responsible for her disappearence but proof is needed.
I know him well and I think he should pay for his crimes and I only hope that Carmon is found alright and in good spirit. I pray for her safe return.
I know this person to well and it really does bothers me that he is still on the streets risking people lives that come in contact with him.

Carmen is my aunt. We are pretty sure of what happened to her, and we believe GRANT DID IT. He thinks he is smart enough to get away with it, but he is simply a coward who couldn't outsmart a flea. There are people, I'm sure, who know what happened, but are too scared to come forward to say anything. Grant is trash who associates with trash, and better believe and remember that CARMEN IS LOVED AND NO ONE IS GOING TO FORGET OR GIVE UP!!! He was "man" enough to kill her, why isn't he MAN ENOUGH to tell us where to find her body? Why isn't he MAN ENOUGH to turn himself in? He won't get away with this. I've seen many "anonymous" feeds online about my Aunt Carmen, but if people know her so much, as they CLAIM to, why don't they call Bell County Investigator's Office and talk to someone?? Haywood, by any chance did you and your family live in Meadow Village in Temple many, many years ago? If so, don't you have a son by the same name? If so, I was friends with your kids...we lived across the street from each other. And, Albert Jr {Taplin} and his family...just curious. |

I just got off the phone with Bell County Investigator's Office, and the detective said no one has contacted him with your name. Just curious...when did you call and which detective did you speak with? If you have info, it may be really important, and maybe you talked to a secretary or the wrong investigator?? |

Heres what I researched. I found that grant has lived in Beaumont, Huntsville, Woodville, Austin, New Braunfels, Cuero, Canyon Lake, Palestine,and Belton. There are similar cases to Carmens (Cuero Sally Blackwell);(Lark Montague);Birge from New Braunfels,Kimberly Langwell of Beaumont. And I am still searching. Does anyone know where his two rape's happened? If we can link him to being in these towns when they disappeared we may have something. All of the missing women it was out of there charicter to miss work or not call. Contact me ivylois7@yahoo.com

Hi there Ivy! {We met on Myspace} I looked up some info on the cases you mentioned and this is what I found: there was an arrest {last August} of a person who was charged in the death of Sally Blackwell. Lark Montague disappeared in Utah. Jessica Birge was found a couple of weeks ago, in her SUV, in the water, not too far from where she got swept away in the floods. In Kimberly Langwell's case, the person of interest is her ex-boyfriend, Terry Rose. Grant has many different addresses because he was in prison quite a few places, a few of the places being Beaumont, Palestine, and Huntsville. His mom lived in New Braunfels, and he was paroled there many years back, but never actually "resided" there. The rapes happened 20 years ago or so, and is public information {it may be easier to access it from Bell County.} I don't think he actually killed anyone else, or was involved in any other murders though, because for one, the car he drove was a piece of crap, and would not have made it more than 100 miles or so, round trip, from his house. He thinks he's smooth, but there is so much against him right now, he has no clue as to what lies ahead for him...and his brother...

Good!!!!!!!! Grant arrested again. this time for failure to appear in court.
The two rapes he committed, one was in moffat Texas one was in temple Texas at a store across from temple college. I am from Temple and i still live in temple. Like i said before I know Grant very well probably better than Carmon did. I know where he worked when she disappeared and that's where i saw her last. She actually gave me a few fresh cherries to munch on. I was not in close contact with Carmon or Grant over the last few years. He just suddenly came back into my zone. I did not seek his friendship nor would I. I don't like him or his kind. I knew him from grade school until he went to prison. after he was released I saw him once. At that time he was not married. The only time i ever saw them together was when I mentioned above. Grants brother Grey was also with her. She was actually giving Grant his lunch. That was the one and only time I saw her since Jr high school.

So Haywood, I to am wondering what your angle is. You seen her the same day she disappeared to? How is it that your not a suspect. Was there some type of affair going on or are you involved in some way? |
