Hello, I came across this website a few months back and was taken aback that such a terrible thing has happened to such a beautiful young lady. Since coming across this website, I have checked back regularly to read Robert Cooke’s journal entries as well as in hopes that there is some new leads, news or answers to what happened to Rachel that morning in January. I have tried to wrap my head around a few comments that I have read on the forums board that I haven’t really seen any closure to. If you have already answered these same questions countless times I extend my apologies but I would like to know regardless. 1. Someone had commented that Rachel and Greg had a confrontation with “what’s his name”? Who is what’s his name? And, could this “what his name” be a suspect. Did they have a good relationship, a close one or could this person perhaps still wanted to have a relationship with Rachel and could have been this “peeking Tom” that I have heard mentioned?? 2. Second question, has the peeking tom ever been identified? Did anyone get a description of him either it be Rachel or anyone else in the house at that time? Was he just seen the one time? Or was it someone who continually came around, that was caught peeking various times to the Cooke residence? 3. What’s up with the neighbor who did not agree to have his yard searched? Has this guy always been strange? Do the Cooke’s know him on a neighborly basis at all? How many people live there, have they all been cleared. Did anyone suddenly move away from the residence after Rachel’s disappearance? Maybe he’s the peeking tom or knows who that person was. Ultimately, he sounds guilty of something given the fact that he doesn’t want to cooperate. Most people would just to relieve any doubts. 4. Has that lake ever been searched? In my home town two young adults went missing on a large lake (broke through ice). The town is VERY small, but people still came together to raise money to hire robots and what not to search for these kids. I can’t see why the town of Georgetown would not support something of a search effort to help the Cooke family find their beloved daughter. I am sure all the questions that I’ve asked above have been covered off but I just couldn’t easily find answers to any of them. It really is a shame that someone(s) could do something like this in the middle of daylight and get away with it for three years already. I’m keeping you in my prayers. I hope that Rachel comes home to you all very soon. |

Reply with quote | #2 | The reason you have not found answers to the questions is I do not discuss the case publicly. Anyone can be reading this including the perpetrator or a friend of the perpetrator. In the beginning I may have shared too much with the public. If there was a clear suspect then I might say more, but there is no point pointing fingers without evidence to back it up. If you read the beginning of my journal then you should know that Central Texas and especially Georgetown turned out in huge numbers and searched for Rachel for almost a month. Several people helped me search for an addional 7 months after that. The people here have supported us time and time again. This is where the $50,000 reward came from. It was collected entirely through donations and fundraisers. I don't mean to discount your questions but I hope this explains things. Robert |

Reply with quote | #3 | Dear Mr. Cooke:
Hearfelt sorrow for your loss.
Having read a lot of what is posted, I'm curious if you have any personal suspicions as to what happenned to your daughter?
Meaning no disrespect, if I may be so forward, I would like to project my two cents worth:
In line with the above posting on "just wondering.." I believe it has to be someone living or having lived in the neighborhood; maybe even someone just visiting who either lived or spent time in the vicinity, someone who knew her or of her.
All of the suspects alluded to in the above posting would be prime suspects, in my opinion, together with any persons in the immediate neighborhood "of interest."
So, at this point, is it that you have ruled out everybody in the vicinity?--or, you can't proceed with potential suspects due to lack of evidence?

Reply with quote | #4 | Will,
You are correct that usually the perpetrator frequents the same areas as the victim. It's not always the case but statistics show it. The Sheriff's office and FBI have interviewed over 100 people in the area. I think they have been able to rule out several possible suspects but there are others that can't be completely marked off.
I have my own list of suspects but I don't have any evidence on any of them. In fact, they could all be completely innocent.
Of course I can't publish any names or ceretian thing law enfocement has shared here. Even after five years we don't know a lot about what happened to Rachel.

Reply with quote | #5 | As a resident of Georgetown currently and for the last 20 + years, I have to say that not a day goes by that Rachel and her family is not thought of. It is such a terrible thing that has happened and it is way past time for the truth to come out!! The person or person responsible need to be brought to justice. Is there anything I can do to help? I pray for answers on a regular basis and think the Cooke family always. I just hope there are answers soon!!! It is so hard for me to comprehend that someone can stay quiet this long. Someone has to know something. How can they look at themselves in the mirror and sleep at night? Cooke family, Please know we are still here for you!!! |

Reply with quote | #7 | Hi Robert. I come to your site often just to check on updates and other stories. I live about 25 minutes from Georgetown, so I vividly remember your daughter's dissapearance. I just had a quick quiestion, though I know that it is really none of my business. I was wondering why you never make any journal entries anymore? I realize that not having new information makes it difficult to write about anything, but please know that people are interested on any updates there are about Rachel's story and also the help that you give to so many others when you participate in searches. I also think that your writing can be very therapuetic. Like I said, I know that ultimately, the journal is your business, I just thought that I would let you know that I miss reading your entries. I think of your family often....everytime I hear of a young woman that has gone missing. I certainly pray for you and hope that one day you receive answers that will give you some type of closure. Take care. Christy |

Everytime I come to this website, I look forward to reading Mr. Cooke's journal entries. I've noticed that there have been no new entries since last July. I'm a little concerned since it's been so long. I've been wondering how the Cooke family is doing. Has there been any updates/new developments on the case? I know the Cooke family will never loose hope in finding Rachel. |
